Bridge - A Game for Life
Playing bridge has many benefits for people of all ages, including millennials. According to a study by the University of Stirling, Scotland, playing bridge keeps people smarter, happier, and more social into old age. The study also indicated that people who play bridge have higher levels of well-being than those who don’t.
Many respondents indicated that playing bridge brought benefits to them personally in the form of the game having a competitive element, facilitating socialising with friends, and – most commonly – being mentally stimulating and deriving enjoyment from the activity.
Bridge’s intricacies make it particularly appealing for those who want to sharpen acuity with mental gymnastics. A study in 2000 at the University of California, Berkeley, found strong evidence that an area in the brain used in playing bridge stimulates the immune system.
